Welcome to the home of Team Love!

History

Team Love [kiSu] was started in December 2007 as part of the Big Brother program proposed by Axiom over at the Team Quitter forums. The primary purpose of Team Love is to help build the Guild Wars PvP community through mentoring of players at all different levels of play. Since starting the project in December 2007, our guilds have done over 3000 GvGs and mentored hundreds of players.

Our Guilds

Team Love [kiSu] began as kiSu's high level mentoring guild and was located first in the DF alliance and later moved to the dR PvP alliance with other highly active GvG guilds. Currently Team Love is on hiatus from regular play, with a plan to resume activity later this year.  The purpose of this guild has been to provide a place where mentors from top guilds can help run matches and show midlevel players the ropes of high level PvP. Team Love matches typically include mentee players, mentor players from top guilds, and experienced "anchor" players. Players in Team Love also help lead and teach in the other kiSu guilds.

Casual Love [kiSu] currently houses kiSu's core GvG/AT team. Casual Love's purpose is to win in ladder and tourney matches with a high level level of competitive play, in a fun atmosphere. Casual Love also serves as a natural transition guild for Virtual Love players who are ready to move to the next level of play. Casual Love is always looking for more like minded people and  qualified applicants will be given a tryout.

Virtual Love [kiSu] is our entry level PvP guild currently leads an active PvP/PvE alliance. Players in this guild are given the opportunity to learn the basics of GvG in a serious, but forgiving environment. Virtual Love requires a good attitude, high level of activity, and willingness to work to learn and improve.

Eternus Love [kiSu] is our mid level Euro PvP mentoring guild. The guild is in the Steel Phoenix [StP] PvP alliance and is designed to be a skill development and networking guild for our Euro based players. Players in Eternus Love are expected to be very active and have good experience in GvG play, as well as help lead and mentor in Virtual Love.

Recruiting

We are usually on the look out for new mentor, anchor, and mentee players. If you are interested in joining this program in any of those capacities, please make a post on our recruiting forums. Please read our rules before applying to the guild as a member or ally.

Please don't PM members in game asking questions about the guild, but instead post those questions on our forums so that others who might have similar ones can see the answers as well. We receive a lot of applications and it takes us time to work through them all.

Team Love was proud to help sponsor the Guild Wars Guru 2008 GvG Challenge!

Team Love sponsored the Casual GvG Division of this tournament. For more information, please go here.

In order to combat the bots that seem to be spamming our forums 3-4 times a day I am going to require that users be a member of a group in order to be able to access and post on our forums.  After you register you will need to email your forum name to teamlovekisu@gmail.com in order to be added to the group .  If you are already registered for our forums but can no longer access/post, then please email your forum name to teamlovekisu@gmail.com and I will add you.

Sorry for the inconvenience but I am getting tired of dealing with this spam every day, and the security measure I have tried to date don't seem to work.

Happy Birthday Team Love!
Posted by billiard on Saturday, December 13 @ 15:07:01 MST (623 reads)
One year ago today the guild Team Love [kiSu] was formed.  The concept for the guild was borne out of an idea by Axiom at Team Quitter concerning starting a Big Brother Program in order to help grow PvP players for Guild Wars.  I suggested to Axiom that it would be good to have a place where less experienced and lesser known players could network with and be mentored by time players in the game.  He thought it was a great idea, and since I had previous experience with training literally hundreds of new PvP players in Xen of Onslaught [XoO], he of course thought I would the person best suited for making it happen.

I had recently stepped down from leading XoO and was pretty content just to join another guild and be just a regular player again, but the idea and the opportunity intrigued me.  What's more, with Axiom's backing it became possible to rally other top players in support of the program.  One of the keys I thought was to get the new (and still unnamed) guild into a very active PvP alliance.  For this I turned to Yue from Delta Formation [DF] and let him know of my idea.  DF was leading a very active guild with other top American PvP guilds such as Dark Alley [dR].  He thought it was a great idea, and quickly moved to form a new guild and give it a place in the alliance.  Yue was the person who coined Team Love [kiSu], based on a name that he had been wanting to use for a guild for a long time.

Team Love started recruiting anchor members who provided a core group in the guild, mentors from top guilds who would guest, and less experienced "mentee" members who wanted a chance to learn and get better known in the PvP community.  Originally Team Love used Hapa's Ventrilo server and hosted forums on the Team Quitter website, but as the guild grew and expanded it purchased it's own 100 person Ventrilo server as well as a dedicated website and forums.  In addition to the main Team Love guild, several other [kiSu] guilds were created due to high levels of interest in PvP mentoring.  These included Casual Love -  orginally a practice guild for Team Love and now a core guild in it's own right, Virtual Love - a guild designed to orient players new to PvP, Eternus Love - a Europe based core guild, and Random Love - a BYOB guild.  Of these guilds Casual, Virtual, and to some extent Random are still active, with Team Love reforming a core this month.

Literally hundreds of players have been through and assisted with the Team Love PvP mentoring program.  The goal of the program has always been to aid PvP players in helping themselves to learn and improve.  [kiSu] guilds have been some of the most active in North American GvG over the past year, completing nearly 3000 matches accross all the [kiSu] guilds.  In addition, Team Love has also created a new Sealed Deck Generator to facilitate Limited Play GvG matches, as well as helped sponsor the Guild Wars Guru GvG Challenge 2008 PvP tournament.

Team Love continues to carry out it's PvP mentoring mission, and hopes to play a role in Guild Wars 2 once that game is released.

PAX 2v2 Tournament Battles Posted For Download

Courtesy of Jan we have some video of the 2v2 Tournaments at the recent Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). Be warned that some of them are huge downloads (300-500MB) and the video was done on a handheld, so it is a little shaky.

Anyway you can download the videos here: http://jan.teamlove.us/

This past weekend I went up to Seattle for the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo (PAX).  I was able to meet up with a lot of Team Love and other GW folks, I interviewed Regina the Community Manager and Chris the Marketing Director at ArenaNet, I handed out a dozen Team Love t-shirts to players and devs, and I was able to go to the ArenaNet VIP party at Gameworks!  All in all it was a killer time and from now on I will always plan to make the trip up! Here is a pic of Feng and I at the VIP party sporting our cool Team Love shirts!

Team Love News: Team Love Sealed Deck Generator
Posted by billiard on Wednesday, July 23 @ 20:33:43 MDT (2162 reads)
The crew at Team Love, headed up by Jacobbs, has built a new sealed deck generator that can be accessed here:

http://sealeddeck.teamlove.us/sealed.php

This is the deck generator we'll be using for all of our sealed deck gameplay, including a tournament we hope to host in the near future.

When you generate a deck it outputs the seed number used for it.  In order for several people to see the same deck, simply go to http://sealeddeck.teamlove.us/sealed.php?s=(seed number) and replace the (seed number) with the seed given when you generate a deck to reproduce that exact deck.

More information about the generator can be found in our Sealed Deck Discussion Forum here:

Team Love News: Casual Love and Virtual Love Compete in Guru Challenge!
Posted by billiard on Saturday, July 12 @ 18:24:19 MDT (5603 reads)
Casual Love participated in the Silver Division while Virtual Love played in the Bronze Division.  Both teams played very well, and both of them finished with a record of 3 and 3 in the swiss rounds, just barely missing out making the single elimination round.

Congratulations to everyone who played!

The match report for Casual can be found here:

Guild Wars News: Building Community - Free Vent and Forums Service
Posted by billiard on Thursday, July 03 @ 13:15:39 MDT (1086 reads)
One of the main goals of Team Love as a mentoring guild is to help build the Guild Wars community, both the PvP and the PvE aspects of it.

As such, we would like to help new PvP and PvE guilds get established.  If your guild has need for a set of forums or channels on a high quality vent server, please PM me and we can set those up for you in our community.  There is no charge, and your leader will be provided with administrative access for your channels and forums.

The eventual goal is to have a large community meeting place, both in vent and on forums, where players can come to find other like minding individuals for grouping and discussion.

So if partnering with Team Love in this way interests you and your guild, please feel free to contact me about this.  Already we have several PvE and PvP guilds taking advantage of this offer and things have been working well so far.

Team Love News: Reworking the Website
Posted by billiard on Tuesday, July 01 @ 23:10:33 MDT (1460 reads)
Well after six months of pretty much the same old thing I decided to make a couple changes.  The main one that you will notice is that I moved the forums off the main page.  Hopefully this doesn't cause too much confusion for folks.

In addition I'm looking around for other things that I make the site more informative and useful.  I have found some, but it still takes me a bit to get them figured out and installed.  Anyway I am just doing this a little at a time as I take a break from writing.  Let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas!
